Emily Pruden, MS, RDN, CDN is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist with a BS in Human Nutrition from The Ohio State University and a MS in Nutrition Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Emily has experience working in all levels of care for eating disorder treatment, including residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient. Emily currently works at New York University in their Student Health Center to provide nutrition counseling to college students. In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking, reading, cheering on the Buckeyes, and trying new restaurants with her friends and family.
Emily's nutrition philosophy is based on the idea that food is so much more than just fuel - it’s also joy, comfort, and connection. Eating becomes self-care when we remove rigid rules and negative beliefs around food, and focus on how we can prioritize all aspects of our health through flexible, balanced, and adequate nourishment. Building trust with your body and allowing it to guide your eating, instead of diet culture, can allow your relationship with food and your body to become more peaceful, healthy, and sustainable.
Emily works with clients struggling with all types of eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), and Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder (OSFED). Emily also works with anyone experiencing any disordered eating patterns, regardless of a formal diagnosis. Emily works with clients of all ages and backgrounds.
